Open-source Obsidian plugin reads EPUB/PDF with your Codex and Claude subscriptions
vista8 · x · 2026-09-14
- The author spent a week building an e-book reader plugin for Obsidian because WeChat Reading lacks titles and locks AI features to built-in models.
- It supports nearly all formats (EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, etc.) and can use existing Codex, Claude Code, or Kimi subscriptions (or DeepSeek API) for reading assistance at no extra cost.
- Highlights are saved as auto-generated Markdown files. Install "qiaomu" from the Obsidian community plugin store; code is open-sourced on GitHub.
