Researcher posts proof he both synthesized viruses and trained a 375B open-weight LLM

After a community note questioned his credentials, DavidRBellamy posted public proof of his unusual dual background:
- A 2015 Nature Medicine paper (work done in early 2014) in which he synthesized many viruses, studying tumor microenvironment cross-talk that boosts oncolytic virus activity.
- His lab's recent release of K2 Horizon, a 375B-parameter open-weights LLM (plus smaller sizes) claimed to beat NVIDIA's and many others; he uses it daily, though he concedes Codex and Claude Code are still a bit better.
He claims to be among an extremely small group (n=1?) to have both trained a frontier LLM and designed viruses by hand, and calls AI-engineered-pandemic doom scenarios "total bogus."
