DeepMind looks back on 15 years of AI game research, partners with EVE Online devs

Google DeepMind published a blog tracing 15 years of AI-in-games research — from DQN mastering 49 Atari games to AlphaGo — and announced new partnerships with game developers to prototype novel gameplay experiences, including a major research partnership with Fenris Creations and the EVE Universe, plus collaborations with Hello Games and Coffee Stain Studios. Demis Hassabis, a former game developer, noted games remain central to DeepMind's research DNA. The team is also hiring a Gameplay Engineer.
