Alexandr Wang: Meta spent a year secretly tuning its models for the Muse personal agent

Meta's Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang revealed that the Muse Spark 1 through 1.3 model releases were purpose-built over many months to power Muse, the company's personal agent — each release's gains in agentic and multimodal capability were staged groundwork, and the shared name was deliberate.

He says the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) was founded with the goal of personal superintelligence, giving AI superpowers to everyone, with the personal agent as its purest manifestation. Building such models, he notes, required months of careful research across infra and data.
