GPT-Live-1 voice agent API opens up: listen-and-talk in a single model
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-09-14
Per a thread by @FinanceYF5 (unverified), GPT-Live-1's voice agent API is now available, letting developers plug ChatGPT-style natural voice conversations into apps with their choice of model and harness. Key points:
- A single model handles both listening and speaking, cutting latency; reasoning and tool calls run in parallel during live conversation
- Separates voice from background noise in loud environments; users can interject or redirect at any time
- Developers can set tone, pace, and style via instructions, mimic the speaker's emotion and rhythm, and specify language and response length
