Per this post, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for slowing the pace of AI development and proposed giving independent evaluators permanent "employee-like" access to frontier models so outside experts can continuously monitor real capabilities and catch harms early. Sam Altman reportedly endorsed it and committed OpenAI to the same; Elon Musk voiced support too.
