Idea: a browser extension to surface the financial incentives behind AI commentary
signulll · x · 2026-09-14
signulll proposes that instead of AI-writing detection (à la Pangram), someone should build a browser extension surfacing the incentives behind human authors: their employer, equity or positions in OpenAI/Anthropic, investment exposure, and whether their policy posts favor frontier labs. With clearly labeled confidence ranges, e.g. 'estimated Anthropic exposure: $2m–$8m, confidence: medium.' The point: it doesn't matter whether a machine wrote the argument — what matters is the biases and financial incentives of the person making it.
