Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei Open to 'Joint Governance' of AI with the Government

Asked on CBS News whether he'd hand over control of Anthropic's AI technology to the government, CEO Dario Amodei said: 'I don't know about handing over, but some kind of oversight, some kind of joint governance — that would be the work of years, but I wonder if that's the direction we need to go in.'
A rare public signal from a frontier lab CEO endorsing some form of shared government oversight of frontier AI, stopping short of ceding control.
