Reacting to Anthropic's move to block distillation, Darpinian argues it won't stop the practice—only make it harder to detect—and that publishing the blog post was a mistake, squandering a valuable intelligence channel that could have been used to watermark or poison distilled models. He adds Beijing has long known Chinese frontier labs distill, and the likely fix is founders no longer routing directly through Anthropic.
