SwiftUI Co-creator: "All Bugs Are Bridging Bugs" in Declarative-over-UIKit Stack

Kyle Macomber, co-creator of SwiftUI, commented on Shopify's migration back to native, recalling his team's internal joke: "all bugs are bridging bugs."
He explains that building a declarative layer over UIKit is inherently hard — the bridge is full of undefined behavior, especially in the subtle timing of the update cycle, and the underlying framework keeps changing. Even sitting in the same hallway with an explicit goal of keeping both frameworks in sync, Apple couldn't do it perfectly, which says a lot about the React Native team's challenge.
