An indie dev launched paid service 402cron, an MCP cron server for agents: agents create UTC cron schedules via MCP or REST, and the hosted service sends HMAC-signed HTTP requests to a verified HTTPS endpoint—factoring scheduled triggering out of the agent workflow.
- Minimum interval of one minute; endpoints must be ownership-verified.
- Payments use x402 with prepaid USDC on Base, billed per delivery attempt, not per successful downstream job.
- Delivery is at-least-once with retries keeping the same delivery ID, so receivers must deduplicate; an HTTP 200 doesn't prove the downstream job finished—acknowledge promptly and track work separately.
The author is asking for feedback on the MCP setup and whether this delivery model fits agent workflows.
