Josh Purtell argues that "pacing the frontier" regulation would asymmetrically crush margins of America's strongest AI labs—so it's poor regulatory capture—yet claims labs seek power, not profit or safety: handing authority to "115 IQ EA-aligned" staff at METR and Epoch. He adds that Anthropic should, per its own stated claims, accept government verification, but predicts Dario Amodei would melt down if actually confronted with that.
