Reddit post lists why ChatGPT falls short of AGI: vision hallucinations, three hands, refused dilemmas
kaljakin · reddit · 2026-09-13
A detailed Reddit post argues ChatGPT isn't AGI, on the thesis that true intelligence shouldn't hinge on training-data coverage. Evidence: GPT 5.6 Sol hallucinating a "family" in a photo of a person walking to a cave (then citing Ocampo's The General's Family); Astra presenting image-gen outputs with three-armed humans as fine results; the model refusing a trivial moral dilemma a human answers in a second; and spatial reasoning far below its IQ-test performance even with CAD assistance. The author's point: components failing independently, with no self-awareness of failure, ruins the AGI experience.
