Ben Fielding pushed back on Dario Amodei's "pace the frontier" argument: with the right transparency and auditability in model development, there's no need to artificially slow down. He contends it's possible to train these models in a way that doesn't create scary black boxes that must be regulated and controlled, promising "more very, very soon" — a techno-optimist alternative: build auditability into training itself rather than rely on voluntary slowdown pledges.
