- AI is a tool some may leverage beyond current comprehension; holding it back to protect those who can't keep up makes no sense
- He asks whether the status quo is coincidentally optimal for math, and whether elite mathematicians destroyed math by raising the bar beyond most people's understanding
The quoted littmath post uses a chess analogy: chess is supportable as a hobby because the rules take an afternoon to learn, while research math's comprehension barrier has grown for decades — the backdrop for her claim that expertise needs institutional support.
