Biper: Open-Source LoRa Mesh Network for Internet-Free Emergency Messaging

blaizedsouza · x · 2026-09-12

Biper is an open-source LoRa mesh project for the M5Stack Unit C6L, built on an ESP32-C6 and SX1262 radio. Two devices exchange messages without cellular service, internet, subscriptions, or a central server, and nodes relay messages to extend coverage.

Each device hosts its own Wi-Fi web panel so phones can connect directly — no app needed — plus a 64×48 OLED, button, buzzer and status LED. Range, power draw and long-term stability are still untested; source code is available.
