Nat Lambert: frontier lab grind suggests we're approaching RSI, not in it

HuggingFace researcher Nathan Lambert argues that if AI research were truly in RSI, human effort would progressively shrink — yet everyone at frontier labs is grinding on narrow, cumulative tasks. He concludes we may only be approaching RSI: humans remain deeply embedded, lab burnout is an easy proxy to read, and we're in an acceleration via research automation that isn't immediately explosive.
