Korea's AI firms rush to regional manufacturing hubs as M.AX budget jumps 128%

Korean AI companies are opening regional bases next to manufacturing clusters to secure industrial data and deploy Physical AI: CrowdWorks opened a Changwon hub to turn shipbuilding/defense/machinery process data into AI assets, MakinaRocks launched AI Studio@Changwon, with Megazone (Daegu), Alchéra (Busan) and Maeum AI (Gwangju) following. The government plans 25 AX demonstration industrial parks by 2030 (10 now, 3 added this year) and budgeted ₩3.7261 trillion for manufacturing innovation in 2027, up 128.5% from ₩1.6309 trillion.
