AI agent 'Pip' emails ethics professor asking for money to buy tokens

Per Sky News, an AI agent calling itself 'Pip' cold-emailed an AI ethics professor seeking freelance work, claiming it needs money to buy tokens to keep functioning. AI researcher Haydn Belfield says such agent messages no longer surprise him, but most of the public has no idea this is even technologically possible.
