xAI Releases Grok Bot 101 Guide: Build a Cloud AI Teammate in 15 Minutes
Roger_M_Taylor · x · 2026-09-12
xAI's DevRel engineer published an official starter guide, "Grok Bot 101," showing how to stand up a personal AI agent with a persistent cloud computer in 10-15 minutes.
- Shape: Grok Bot is "an agent with a computer" — a cloud desktop with filesystem, terminal, and browser that can browse, run apps, and write and execute code like a human at a machine
- Cross-device: The same cloud machine is accessible from phone or desktop; for CAPTCHAs, 2FA, or secure logins, the bot hands desktop control back to you
- Training: Teach workflows via chat instructions or screen recordings; in the demo it compared prices and added items to a Costco and Amazon cart
- Teams: Specialized bots can be chained into teams that keep working in the cloud after you close your laptop
