Aider's creator says Claude Max is way better on free-roaming tasks, CLI still early

Paul Gauthier, creator of Aider, reports that the Max tier performs "way way better" on free-roaming tasks. He notes the CLI is still early — annoying issues include not remembering his /permission setting, and he wants auto-approve as the default everywhere. All testing was done at high effort; he plans to try Max next.
