Wipe all your Claude Code configs: veteran says stale files hurt newer models more than any upgrade helps

A coder suggests that anyone who has used Claude Code or similar coding agents for a couple of years should wipe all accumulated config: CLAUDE.md at every level, memory folders, skills, slash commands, hooks, permission allowlists, MCP configs, plugins, subagents, plus old indexes and handoff notes.

The argument: all of those were written for models that no longer exist, and stale instructions now hold newer models back. The author claims this cleanup improved his coding agents more than any recent model or feature update, and the replier says it may be worth trying.
