Manifund announced that Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, has joined full-time to develop its funding platform and research effective philanthropic allocation. She started a work trial on July 13 under the pseudonym "Carol," converting to a full-time role on Aug 10, and has already proven valuable — building a reconciliation tool that flagged several misregistered transactions in the five-to-six figures. Founder Austin Chen cites redemption and her served sentence as reasons for the hire, adding that she has "extreme motivation not to repeat FTX's mistakes."
