Counterintuitive: Astra MAX Reasoning Effort Consumes Far Less Usage Than Medium or Low
Alywan · reddit · 2026-09-11
Multiple users report Astra's MAX reasoning effort consumes much less of their weekly usage than Medium or even Low. ARC Prize's own blog confirms it: at max effort, Astra solves games more efficiently, requiring fewer actions and thus lowering total cost — the action count is the billing driver, not raw tokens. One user switched from Medium/Low (which trashed their weekly limit) to ULTRA/MAX and saw tasks finish much faster with far lower consumption.
