Sakana's Fugu Max hits OpenRouter: multi-agent orchestration, 1M context at $2/$6 per 1M tokens
SakanaAILabs · x · 2026-09-12
Sakana AI's Fugu Max is now live on OpenRouter. Rather than a monolithic model, it's a learned multi-agent orchestration system that routes tasks across a pool of open-weights and specialized models (including NVIDIA Nemotron) and recursively calls itself, picking expert combinations to improve quality and cost together.
- $2/$6 per 1M tokens, flat regardless of context length
- 1M context; image/PDF input plus built-in web search/fetch
- Configurable reasoning effort (high/xhigh/max), function calling, structured outputs
- Orchestration tokens are billed as standard input/output tokens
