Mass Magnetics recycles EV motor magnets into robotics and defense supplies
Y Combinator · youtube · 2026-09-12
Y Combinator startup Mass Magnetics makes USA-made magnetics for robotics and defense. Rare earth magnets sit in nearly every electric motor, but 90% of the material is conventionally thrown away. The company recycles magnets from EV motors into new ones, avoiding much of the capital-intensive refining required by mining.
