Scobleizer touts WebBrain, an open-source self-hostable AI browser agent for Chrome, Firefox and Edge

Robert Scoble says Claude's Chrome agent is great for work but falls short in three ways: no local models, no Web GPU support, and no open source. He highlights WebBrain, an alternative built by Emre Sokullu.

WebBrain is a free, open-source browser extension bringing AI agent capabilities to Chrome, Firefox, and Edge: reading pages, extracting data, and automating web tasks, with your choice of LLM and self-hosting support. Demos show it filling nine fields of a tax form from memory and pausing before submit, answering questions about a local article, and inspecting DevTools CSS to propose a fix — combining local models with browser automation.
