Steve Yegge asked what people use as an "agentic IDE" to multiplex 10-20+ agents (Superlogical? Herdr? github/bb?), admitting his Emacs isn't a good recommendation.
Doodlestein answered with an open-source stack:
- ntm (namedtmuxmanager): orchestrates tmux agent swarms — spawning panes, triaging work, locks/mail, safety and pipelines;
- /ntm and /vibing-with-ntm Claude Code skills: the former handles orchestration ticks, the latter tends the swarm — unsticking panes, rate limits, review mode, convergence and Goodhart/reward-hacking defenses;
- Companion skills include a Gemini-powered code review swarm; the catalog has tens of thousands of downloads.
The core idea: skip a fancy IDE — just tell the controller agent what to do and it manages the panes.
