OpenAI CFO: agentic AI will 'shock' a market obsessed with GPUs by activating CPUs

In a video interview, Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood cites OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar: "People are chasing GPUs. They're going to be really shocked at how agentic AI activates CPUs." The argument: the market has treated GPUs as the scarce ingredient because training large models demanded them, but agentic AI shifts huge amounts of inference, orchestration and logic workloads toward the CPU side, potentially putting the traditional CPU-centric computing stack back at the center of the story.
