PlanetScale's new sharded Postgres service Neki sustained 118,538,803 QPS for 16 minutes across 512 shards and 1.22 PiB of data, with 480 routers, p99 latency of 6.06ms at the router, and 1 error per 1.8M queries. Scaling was near-linear from 5 to 512 shards — though the benchmark is read-only single-shard point selects.
