Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman announced MAI-Transcribe-2 processed 1 million requests on OpenRouter within 5 days of launch, calling it the fastest, most accurate and cheapest transcription model. Per OpenRouter, it ranks #1 on the FLEURS multilingual benchmark, supports 60 languages with automatic language ID and code switching, plus speaker diarization, word-level timestamps, keyword biasing, and verbatim/clean styles. Pricing is $0.10/hour, and it's faster than MAI-Transcribe-1.5 on long-form audio.
