OpenAI's Agents API called the "AWS moment for agents" as platform layers get commoditized

Greg Isenberg argues OpenAI's newly shipped Agents API is the "AWS moment for agents": the hard parts of running agents — keeping them alive for days, memory, tool use, step-failure recovery — are now rentable via an API call, just as AWS made servers rentable and pushed value up to whoever had the best idea.

He notes the blunt implication: companies whose entire business is an agent platform just got commoditized. A Cloud Foundry veteran (@TheRealAdamG) amplifies it as "Codex Harness as a Service" — the first legit AI PaaS offering.
