Mario Draghi argues in an FT op-ed that (1) without higher productivity Europe cannot sustain its social model, (2) AI is its best possibility to get there, and (3) dependence on the US and China threatens sovereignty. He proposes building European compute, leveraging Europe's data advantage, and pooling corporate demand to finance the buildout.
