When Paul Walker died, a third of Furious 7 was still unfilmed; audiences later watched 350 shots of a man who was already gone. Weta Digital had no scans of him, so the team mined outtakes from six Fast films for face references, digitally relit old footage to match new scenes, and used his brothers as body doubles in 260 shots while 90 others repurposed existing footage — including the final drive beside Vin. Dialogue was stitched line by line from franchise recordings. Context: a new film, FAST FOREVER, plans to use AI to generate Paul Walker footage, pending his daughter's approval.
