Anthropic researcher says AI could kill all humans with >10% odds within a decade

Anthropic alignment researcher Evan Hubinger publicly stated that he earnestly believes AI could kill all humans — putting his personal odds at over 10% within the next decade. He admitted Anthropic is trying its best, but says the company has no plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and is not clearly on track.
The statement was amplified by Rep. Angie Craig to push for congressional AI regulation, citing safety researchers resigning in alarm while AI companies race ahead.
