Real token value of LLM subscriptions measured: SuperGrok Heavy hits 40x ROI, Cursor Ultra lowest
thesaraharminta · x · 2026-09-11
The author empirically measured the real token value of LLM subscriptions by burning 5% of quota on each via repeated eval tasks in open-source repos, priced at API rates:
- SuperGrok Heavy: $12k in tokens, 40x ROI — now the best value
- OpenAI and Anthropic $200 plans: roughly tied at $7k each
- Cursor Ultra: lowest ROI among mainstream subscriptions, about half of OpenAI/Anthropic — the author says it no longer makes sense for individual consumers
Caveat: only coding agent quota was measured (the bulk of offered value).
