NTU spin-off Ropedia raises $22M to train robots from wearable first-person data

NTU (Nanyang Technological University) spin-off Ropedia has launched HOMIE Gen 2, a lightweight wearable system that captures real-world human experiences to train robots and Physical AI systems.
Developed from research at NTU's College of Computing and Data Science led by Assoc Prof Liu Ziwei, the system captures first-person data across 360° vision, spatial audio, motion, interaction, and surrounding environment. Ropedia processes these experiences into structured, training-ready data at scale, letting robots learn from how people perceive, move, and interact with the physical world.
The startup recently raised US$22 million, bringing total funding to US$30 million, backed by NTU's Innovation and Entrepreneurship initiative and NTUitive.
