Per the New York Times, Anthropic said it halted potential plots by scientists who used its AI models for research that could have helped develop biological weapons. Commenters add a warning: viral sequences and assembly instructions—especially potential pandemic pathogen (PPP) sequences—should be taken offline, and risks will grow as open-weight models with open harnesses approach frontier capabilities.
