FCC Supply-Chain Rules Could Shape How US Robots Are Built and Sold

The FCC is drafting communications-supply-chain rules that are likely to shape how robots are built, tested, sold, serviced, and financed in the United States.
Background: on July 22 the Commission adopted rules closing the so-called "component part loophole" (banning Huawei products but not Huawei parts) and sought public feedback; six days later the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List.
Consulting firm RoboStrategy filed comments arguing these effects on robotics and physical AI may not have been fully accounted for by regulators.
