VidMap: ETH researchers open-source video Structure-from-Motion system, ECCV 2026
rsasaki0109 · x · 2026-09-11
ETH Zurich's cvg lab open-sourced VidMap (ECCV 2026, by Pataki, Sarlin, and Pollefeys), an offline Structure-from-Motion system built for video. It exploits temporal structure—temporal tracks, loop closures, metric depth, and global optimization—to estimate camera poses, intrinsics, and a sparse 3D map. Code is on GitHub (425 stars) with pip install, built on COLMAP 4.1/PyCOLMAP, with optional CUDA acceleration via Ceres 2.3+.
