LeCun retweeted a double-hitter against AI extinction fears: Dan Jeffries argues you can't do serious research on an imaginary form of technology — like studying gravity-bending UFO propulsion — while @DFintelligence says a 2-hour review of the scientific literature on AI extinction risk found almost nothing beyond books, novels, and 'paperclip'-style thought experiments, and no plausible autonomous scenario without human intervention, challenging anyone to name three plausible scenarios of AI exterminating humanity unaided.
