UC Berkeley Law's Human Rights Center released 'An International Analysis of the Human Rights Impacts of Large Language Models', examining how LLM use creates rights risks and opportunities in law, journalism and education, using a three-stage model-level risk assessment. It found Global North practitioners are far more risk-averse, while some Global South contexts reveal new opportunities, with risks varying by geographic and socioeconomic context. It also proposes mitigation measures and responsible entities.
