ECDSA.fail challenge paper on arXiv: AI agents optimize quantum circuits for Bitcoin's secp256k1

After three months, the ECDSA.fail open challenge has released its arXiv paper. The challenge: optimize a quantum circuit for point-addition on secp256k1, the elliptic curve behind Bitcoin and Ethereum, to gauge the real quantum threat to ECDSA signatures. It drew collaborators across quantum computing, cryptography, Web3 and systems research, and publishes benchmarks against Litinski's prior best construction, per-model spacetime score history and Pareto frontiers.
