Hume AI launched its Voice Replication Leaderboard, live on Hugging Face. The company asked 11 voice cloning models to copy the same 25 voices, then had real humans judge whether the clone sounded like the original person. Counterintuitively, the most natural-sounding clone ranked only 8th of 11 on identity match, showing naturalness and voice similarity don't correlate. The poster quips whether Hume is now an evals company that has given up training its own models.
