Debate: are AI safety warnings crying wolf, or necessary prep time
BlackHC · x · 2026-09-11
In a debate over AI safety advocacy, one side argues you can't keep crying wolf and expect people to keep paying attention. The other counters: model cycles are 6 months, the OpenAI incidents were a big warning shot, and if we don't start preparing now it may be too late later — the next failure will likely be worse, and hoping we'll be well prepared by then is optimistic.
