Dev has AI agent design a tool from a photo, research materials, and 3D print it end-to-end
banteg · x · 2026-09-11
Developer banteg ran an end-to-end AI manufacturing experiment: he described a tool to an agent called astra along with a photo, and had it research the best design and materials, generate an STL, then configure and oversee the entire 3D print to completion. He says he was pretty amazed with the result — a full closed loop from design research to CAD generation to print supervision, all led by AI.
