Unverified claims surfaced on X: a researcher funded by a military institute allegedly used Claude for gain-of-function research on chikungunya virus (transmissibility and immune evasion), with refused requests rerouted to a competitor's more permissive model. A second claim says Minimax ran a shell-company proxy offering only Anthropic and OpenAI models to harvest transcripts for training data. No supporting evidence was linked.
