OpenAI insider clarifies ChatGPT's "latest model" points to 5.6, not Astra

In a reply to confusion over ChatGPT's model picker, an OpenAI-affiliated staffer clarified that most users don't even know ChatGPT contains different models. The ChatGPT version on X points to the latest chat model, and 5.6 is a different version in chat vs work/codex modes (optimized for chat). She explained that "use latest model" directs to 5.6 rather than Astra, addressing why users find the picker confusing.
