Atto launches beta MCP server giving AI assistants a wallet with user-approved spending limits

Atto's founder released a beta MCP server, @attocash/mcp, letting AI assistants manage an ATTO crypto wallet: check balances and history, alias addresses, watch incoming payments, and send payments within user-approved limits.
Notable safety design: the assistant can propose per-payment caps and rolling budgets, but only the user approves them in their own terminal — a proposal alone grants nothing, and no MCP tool can self-approve or raise limits. Runs locally over stdio, requires Node.js 24 and an OS password store. The author cautions these controls aren't a sandbox if the agent also has shell access as the same user, and recommends starting with a dedicated wallet and small balance.
