Labs say they're close to RSI, and everything past RSI looks Yudkowskian

Replying in a thread about the predictability of recursive self-improvement (RSI), the author notes that beyond what the labs themselves say, outsiders have no way to gauge how close they are to RSI — and the labs claim they're close. He adds that nothing on the far side of RSI looks anything other than Yudkowskian.
